Tommy Fury is about to take on a challenger bigger — literally — than anyone his famed brother Tyson Fury ever has. But before the younger Fury boxes former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall this Saturday, he was lined up to take on former UFC star Darren Till.
Like Fury, Till has found success in the boxing world, winning four consecutive matches from 2024-25 before taking the gloves off in May for his bare-knuckle boxing debut against Aaron Chalmers at BKFC 90. Till won that fight as well, scoring a vicious second-round knockout to keep his unbeaten run rolling since leaving the UFC in 2023.

A boxing match between Fury and Till was previously booked for January 2025 under the Misfits Boxing banner, but Fury ultimately withdrew without much explanation. Till has since speculated that Fury was too afraid to fight him after hearing how well Till was transitioning into the boxing world. Though the match is now in the rearview, tensions between the two sides reignited Tuesday after Till revealed on social media that he’s been banned from attending Fury’s Misfits Boxing fight against Hall this weekend.
Fury said Tuesday on “The Ariel Helwani Show” that he isn’t concerned with anything Till has going on — including Till’s claims of being banned from attending Fury vs. Hall.
“I’m not here to talk about Darren Till in the slightest. I’ve got no interest in him whatsoever. I have no idea [if he’s been banned from the event],” Fury told Uncrowned. “My job is not to deal with anything in contracts or anybody like that. My job is to literally get in there and fight. I don’t care who’s there on the night.
“He’s a man that had his chance, and that’s it. We’ve moved on. Darren Till is way in the past, so I’m not interested at all in him or what he’s got to say or what anybody’s got to say about him.”
Fury, 27, teased that there was more to the story than the public knows. While he wouldn’t reveal specifics, he indicated that Till himself had caused their fight’s cancellation.

“At the end of the day, as far as I’m concerned, Darren needs to learn how to be professional, but that’s all I’m going to say on him. He had his chance, and we will move on,” Fury said.
The careers of both men have since gone in vastly different directions, though Till’s bare-knuckle turn was somehow far less surprising than seeing a pairing between Fury and the human giant, Hall.
As has become typical with the Fury family, the Hall match wouldn’t have been made without a little family drama. Fury himself wasn’t even the centerpiece of the situation; instead, it was Fury’s big-personality father, John Fury.
“I can’t have somebody having a war of words with my dad and me not get involved,” Fury said.

“Basically, from what I know is, I think Eddie wanted an MMA fight with Tyson [Fury] and stuff like that. I think my dad took it a bit personal because, obviously, Tyson’s one of the best boxers to ever live. And I think when Eddie said he wanted to fight him and saying all these words, my dad just took it in a way of disrespect. And I think things got heated, and obviously, a little few weeks later, I get a contract shoved my way. OK, let’s settle this in the ring.”
Hall is no stranger to combat sports, having taken his training more seriously for self-proclaimed “freak show” fights in recent years. The 300-plus-pound behemoth will enter the boxing ring with a significant size advantage, which makes the match the spectacle it is.

Fury, on the other hand, has historically fought around the 200-pound mark, though he plans to surprise people with some added mass this weekend.
“I’m going to weigh a lot heavier than people think, especially what I’ve been seeing on the internet,” Fury said. “People do think it’s like a super heavyweight versus a welterweight, but it really isn’t. I’m a big, strong guy myself, and everyone goes on about Eddie’s power, but if I catch Eddie on the chin, or anywhere properly, listen, it could be good night. Eddie’s not used to taking shots. He isn’t a boxer. He’s a former World’s Strongest Man. So it’s going to be a shock to his system.
“I think there will definitely be 100 pounds between us. In the ring on Saturday night, you are gonna see David and Goliath for real. Eddie is a mountain of a man; he’s absolutely ginormous. I’m a big guy, but I’m an athletic guy. I don’t look extraordinary or anything like that, so it’s going to be an absolute spectacle.”
