Will Levis will reportedly have the remainder of the 2024 NFL season to make his case to be the Tennessee Titans’ quarterback of the future.

Joe Rexrode of The Athletic reported that Levis will get a chance to prove his worth as the team’s starter but that the team will likely “pivot” if he does not show his capabilities:

Levis shouldn’t be ruled out as some kind of factor in 2025, perhaps as part of a competition with a rookie, but this season of discovery hasn’t gone well for him. Levis doesn’t protect the ball (or himself) well enough, he sees too many things late and misses too many that he does see on time. Barring a late-season surge — which Levis will get every opportunity to manufacture — the Titans need to pivot.

Levis was a second-round pick in 2023 and was given a starting opportunity midway through his rookie season. He went 3-6 while throwing for 1,808 yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions and the Titans hoped he could take major strides in 2024.

That has not happened. He has led the team to a 1-5 record in six starts while throwing for 874 yards with seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. He missed three starts with a shoulder injury but returned in Week 10, putting together a solid performance in a 27-17 loss.

He will likely be the starter for the rest of the season and major improvement will be needed to solidify his case to keep the gig. A big test will come in Week 11 against the Minnesota Vikings, who lead the league in interceptions (15) and turnovers forced (20).

If he can hold strong against a strong defensive unit, then the future could look a little brighter in Nashville. If not, the team may take a stab at a new quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft.
