Legendary golfer Tiger Woods was involved in a car crash in Florida on Friday, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office told WPTV.

The scene of the crash, which occurred on Jupiter Island on the east coast of Florida, showed a vehicle on its side.

Woods has been involved in highly publicized car crashes in the past, from an infamous 2009 collision with a tree near his home to a serious 2021 crash that left him with severe injuries.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to WPTV that Woods was involved in a crash on Jupiter Island in Florida shortly after 2 p.m. ET. An image taken by WPTV showed a vehicle on its side.

There is no word on Woods’ condition at this time, but a county sheriff is expected to speak to reporters at 5 p.m. ET.

Woods has been in the headlines as he attempts to complete a comeback from Achilles and back surgeries, which have kept him from golfing competitively for more than a year. Woods returned to competition in indoor golf league TGL earlier in the week and confirmed he has been hitting balls on live courses, but he has not committed to playing in the Masters in early April.
