Rolland Courbis’ fake resignation

April 1st, 2014. The late Rolland Courbis is Montpellier’s coach. At 9:45 in the morning, the manager decides to call his president, the late Louis Nicollin.

While the club is battling to stay up, Courbis says on the phone: “I already spoke about it with Michel (Mézy, president Nicollin’s advisor, editor’s note), I know he hasn’t told you about it yet, but actually, I won’t be able to stay after the end of the season.”

Shock! The former MHSC president explodes: “Oh yeah, you found something better, is that it?! Now that Monsieur has his coaching diploma, Monsieur thinks he’s a coach!”

But no, Loulou. It was a joke. Courbis did stay on as coach, and Montpellier stayed up!

Patrick Bruel as sporting director!

We said we’d meet again in ten years… in the offices of Chamois Niortais?

Well… you probably won’t get this old-school reference! It’s the ultimate hit by French singer Patrick Bruel.

In 2021, Chamois Niortais announced the arrival of the French star  as the club’s sporting director. We still don’t really understand why, but the edit makes us laugh a lot.
