The Women's Super League transfer window closed on Thursday, and it's now time to focus on matters on the pitch.
It's been a busy summer, with England retaining their European crown and the world record transfer fee being broken not once, but twice.
Lauren James, Mariona Caldentey, Lucy Bronze, Vivianne Miedema and Yui Hasegawa are among the players to take the WSL by storm in recent years.
This season, the fresh talent looking to wow top-flight fans includes Champions League winners and Euro 2025 stars.
BBC Sport takes a look at six of those key summer signings.
Alyssa Thompson
Chelsea won a sixth successive WSL title last season as part of a stunning domestic treble.
But, as with all top sides, the Blues have looked to improve further with the addition of United States forward Alyssa Thompson from Angel City as they continue their pursuit of a maiden Champions League crown.
The 20-year-old has already played 22 times for the US and is one of the most exciting attacking talents in the world.
She became the youngest draft pick in NWSL history when she went number one overall in the 2023 NWSL Draft to Angel City at the age of 18.
US national coach Emma Hayes – the former Chelsea manager – said Thompson had "easily been one of the best players in the NWSL this year".
Thompson's speed, creativeness and aggression makes her a forward that no defender looks forward to facing. She is also known for her lightning speed and ability to dribble with the ball.
Ellie Carpenter
Not only have Chelsea added Thompson to their ranks, they have also signed talented Australia full-back Ellie Carpenter from Lyon.
The 25-year-old joined on a four-year deal after four successful years in France, where she won two Champions League trophies.
Carpenter, who played under Blues boss Sonia Bompastor at Lyon, won the first of her 87 international caps aged 15 and at 16 became the youngest woman to play football at an Olympics.
She has gone on to build a reputation as one of the best right-backs in the world.
"She is an athletic full-back who loves to get forward," said Paul Green – head of women's football at Chelsea.
"We are excited to see how she continues to develop and what she will add to an already talented squad of players."
Carpenter will compete with 33-year-old England full-back Lucy Bronze for a spot in the starting XI.
Sydney Lohmann

Manchester City have added the physicality of 5ft 9in Sydney Lohmann to their squad.
The 25-year-old spent eight years in the Bayern Munich first team – winning four German titles and finishing runner-up in the 2022 Champions League.
She will bring running power to the City midfield and is also a threat in front of goal.
Capped 42 times by Germany, Lohmann impressed in the heart of the midfield at Euro 2025.
"I can't imagine a better time than now," she told BBC Sport about moving to England.
"This country is crazy about football, and in Manchester there is a different vibe. When you speak about football, it doesn't matter if it is women's or men's they are so excited about it."
Fridolina Rolfo
Jaws dropped when Manchester United announced the signing of Sweden international Fridolina Rolfo from Barcelona in August.
Rolfo, who usually plays on the left, will add huge experience to a United side who have qualified for the Champions League.
She won four Liga F titles and two Champions League trophies – scoring 40 goals in 131 appearances. She has also played for Bayern Munich.
Barca captain Alexia Putellas described her as a "fantastic" player, saying: "She has tremendous energy, a great shot and many qualities."
The 31-year-old, who came fourth in the 2023 Women's Ballon d'Or, earned her 100th cap for Sweden during Euro 2025 and has scored 33 goals for her country.
Rolfo said the appeal of joining United was the WSL, which she described as "probably the strongest league in the world right now".
Iman Beney

Teenager Iman Beney announced herself on the European stage with some sparkling displays for Euro 2025 hosts Switzerland.
Beney, 19, was one of Switzerland's stand-out performers as they reached the knockout rounds of a European Championship for the first time.
The forward scored nine goals in 22 appearances for YB Frauen as they claimed their first Swiss title since 2011, and was also named in the Swiss Super League Team of the Season.
Thais Hurni – a former team-mate of Beney at YB Frauen – said: "I can tell you she can be even better. The key is for her to play even more freely, to dare even more.
"If she lets go and goes all out, believe me, she'll do even more damage. Don't forget that she's a kid.
"If she keeps her carefree spirit and gains consistency, Switzerland will have a top player for years to come."
Beney not only brings blistering pace to the City side but a vast amount of footballing intelligence, versatility and hard work.
She made her senior Switzerland debut as a 16-year-old in 2023 and has also played at right-back for her home nation.
Beney will be the first Swiss player to play for City's women's team.
Grace Geyoro
Perhaps the coup of the transfer window, WSL newcomers London City Lionesses have captured Paris St-Germain midfielder Grace Geyoro.
The France international, who made her debut aged 19 and has won 103 caps, came through PSG's youth ranks and is a two-time Champions League runner-up.
The 28-year-old, who was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo before moving to France aged two, is one of the most exciting midfielders in Europe, with vast Champions League experience.
She started three of France's four matches at Euro 2025 – scoring twice as they reached the quarter-finals – and has described herself as a "leader".
"On the pitch, I talk to my team-mates a lot, and in the dressing room I'm not afraid to speak up either," she said.
Geyoro is a dynamic box-to-box midfielder known for her ability to get about the pitch and ability to set the tempo of a game.
She can contribute defensively while adding attacking flair, ball-carrying, breaking the lines, and arriving late in the box to score.
