The Suzuki Jimny is essentially dead in Europe. Due to stricter emissions standards, sales of the off-road vehicle, which was previously only available as a commercial vehicle, were gradually discontinued in Germany and the EU in mid-2024. Now it’s making a brief comeback, but only in France.

As a tribute to its iconic off-road vehicle, which has sold over three million units worldwide in 55 years, Suzuki is launching a limited series of 55 units in France: The Jimny 55th Anniversary. A fitting celebration to mark the departure of the current version of the Suzuki Jimny from the French market, and from the continent.

Visually, the farewell model resembles the Jimny Horizon, a special edition that marked the end of the SUV in Germany. The Jimny 55th Anniversary was developed based on the French model version, the Privilège V.U., and features several exclusive features in addition to its standard equipment:

  • Suzuki retro design grille
  • Retro design side decals
  • A soft Rhino spare tire cover featuring the famous stylized rhinoceros associated with the Jimny since the 1980s
  • Rubber floor mats in the passenger compartment and trunk
  • Mudflaps with the Jimny logo in red behind the front and rear wheels
  • A logbook with embossed leather cover to record your fondest memories aboard the iconic Suzuki 4×4
  • A matching key chain

French customers will also receive 4×4 training to perfect their off-road skills.

Each of the 55 Jimny 55th Anniversary Editions is numbered and features a commemorative plaque at the base of the center console. This limited edition is available in four body colors: White, Jungle Green, Bluish Black, and Medium Gray.

The special features of the 55th Anniversary Edition complement the already extensive standard equipment of the Jimny Privilège: Air conditioning, heated seats, Bluetooth audio system, lane departure and lane change warning, automatic high beam control, traffic sign recognition, and much more.

With its curb weight of 1,090 kilograms (2,403 pounds) and its compact size—11.4 feet long and 5.38 feet wide – the Suzuki Jimny performs well anywhere, whether on steep paths or in congested urban areas.

Off-road, its agility is further enhanced by particularly favorable approach angles (37 degrees), departure angles (49 degrees), and landing angles (28 degrees), as well as the AllGrip Pro all-wheel drive with transfer case and short shift throws. The Suzuki Jimny 55th Anniversary Edition is equipped with a 102-horsepower 1.5-liter gasoline engine and a 5-speed manual transmission, and costs €28,955 ($33,221 at current exchange rates).

Orders for this special series were accepted for a limited period from Monday, June 2nd, to Tuesday, June 10th. So if you’re not on the list, it’s already too late. Deliveries to customers will take place later in June.
