A couple of years ago, Mazda’s CX-90 debuted on a brand-new longitudinal platform that unlocked more power and, more importantly, more space for families. For the 2026 model year, it brings a host of refinements for a shockingly small price bump.

The CX-90 starts at $40,330 with destination included, an increase of $755 compared to 2025. That nets you a Select model, which already throws in all-wheel drive, 19-inch wheels, LED headlamps and taillights, and rain-sensing wipers. Polymetal Gray Metallic is available for the first time on the CX-90, while hands-free Alexa technology is standard.

Inside, faux leather seating surfaces accommodate up to eight passengers, along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters. A 10.3-inch center display is standard, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. USB-C ports are sprinkled throughout the cabin, as is three-zone climate control to keep your occupants cool and charged up.

Under the hood of most CX-90s is a turbocharged 3.3-liter inline-six paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Aiding efficiency is a 48-volt mild-hybrid battery that also improves throttle response. This engine is available in two tunes, 280 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque in lower trims, and 340 horsepower and 369 pound-feet in higher Turbo S guises. EPA ratings are the same for either configuration, netting 23 miles per gallon city / 28 highway / 25 combined.

For 2026, the CX-90 still offers the plug-in hybrid as the more eco-conscious option. The setup consists of a 2.5-liter inline-four coupled to a 17.8-kilowatt-hour battery for a combined output of 323 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Electric-only range is unchanged from last year, delivering up to 26 miles before the gas engine kicks in.

With nine trim levels to choose from, there are plenty of features to keep everybody happy. Premium options across the range include 21-inch wheels, a larger 12.3-inch center display with wireless smartphone connectivity, a 12-speaker Bose stereo, a panoramic sunroof, second-row captain’s chairs, ventilated front and rear Nappa leather seats, and a 360-degree camera that tops an already-impressive roster of safety features.

You can play with the options, as the 2026 configurator for both the Turbo and PHEV models is now live. Mazda anticipates the refreshed CX-90 to arrive at dealers before the end of the year.
