Terence Crawford named his top five fighters of all-time, but snubbed Muhammad Ali.
As one of only three male boxers in history to become a two-weight undisputed champion in a four-belt era, Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford is completely acceptable as an authority on his sport.
Crawford revealed his list on Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo’s podcast, “For me, you’ve got Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Marvin Hagler and Roberto Duran.”
Host Cejudo was astonished to see Manny Pacquiao left off his list, but Crawford gave his reasons why, “Manny’s a generational fighter, who is very talented. Like, he has accomplished what no other fighter is ever going to accomplish.
“But, I don’t feel like he personally did it all on his own, that’s my opinion.”
Filipino boxing legend, Manny ‘Pac-man’ Pacquiao was an eight-weight world champion, an achievement that no other boxer has accomplished. He fought the best fighters of his generation, including Ricky Hatton, Erik Morales, Juan Manuel Marquez, Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto, Oscar De La Hoya, and Floyd Mayweather.
Mayweather was recently discussing Crawford himself. When asked who he rates as the world’s best boxer right now, he chose Terence Crawford.
“I think Terence Crawford, right now in the sport of boxing, is the pound-for-pound best fighter,” the five-weight world champion declared.
“It’s good to see him in the position that he’s in. Terence Crawford continues to be great.”
