Tennessee’s Bruce Murphy was named SEC Golfer of the Week.
Murphy, a redshirt junior for the Vols, earned the award after winning the the Coach Sykes Individual last weekend in Raleigh, North Carolina.

He won the weather-shortened two-round, 36-hole with a score of one-under 132. Murphy opened tournament play by recording a hole-in-one on his first hole. He shot a four-under 67 in the opening round. In the second round, Murphy recorded a six-under 65.
The tournament hosted 67 competitors. Murphy had a bogey free second round with Sunday’s afternoon final round being canceled.
He recorded 11 birdies over two rounds, the third most in the tournament. Murphy won a second individual title of his career and his first since winning the same event as a redshirt freshman during the 2023-24 season.
His Tennessee teammate, Chase Kyes, recorded a runner-up finish in the event, finishing nine-under (133).
