Several years ago, Tommy Fleetwood partnered with TAG Heuer, and in several events the Englishman has worn the company’s Connected Golf watch. Now, it seems that relationship may have spawned another because TaylorMade and TAG Heuer have introduced the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5 45 mm x TaylorMade Edition ($2,550). It is part of a collection that includes a Spider ZT x TAG Heuer putter and co-branded accessories that include a TaylorMade x TAG Heuer duffel bag, hats and golf gloves.
The timepiece is the star of the show, and it is not merely a watch for people who like golf. It is a watch for people who want their golf watch to look like it belongs at a Formula 1 paddock, in a private club locker room and, yes, on the first tee at 7:40 a.m.

The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5 is a grade 2 titanium smartwatch designed to work on the course and still look civilized afterward, but the golf touches, which are everywhere, are not especially loud. The bezel is engraved with 18 holes, the crown includes a TaylorMade logo, and the blue leather and black rubber strap has a white center line and silver stitching. An additional stretch textile strap comes in the box, which is useful if you prefer not to sweat through the dressier strap during a humid July round.

The smartwatch runs on TAG Heuer OS and is designed to automatically register shots and positions during a round without the player needing to tap the screen after every swing. The captured data is then processed through TaylorMade’s performance analysis to deliver strokes gained information, giving golfers a better picture of where they are winning and losing shots.
Yes, it’s nice to look at. Very nice. But the real point is the Connected Calibre E5 tells you whether the problem is driving, approach play, short game, putting or decision-making.

Beyond golf, it has a touchscreen with sapphire glass, an always-on display, dual-band GPS, heart-rate monitoring, sleep tracking, SpO2, breathing-rate tracking and tracks heart-rate variability. Battery life is listed at up to two days in performance mode, up to three days in low power mode, 17 hours in sport mode, and up to 12 hours for golf. TAG Heuer says a 30-minute fast charge provides a full day of use.

Along with the watch, TaylorMade also created a Spider ZT x TAG Heuer putter. It features a TAG Heuer logo sightline and texturing inspired by the watch face, plus a premium co-branded headcover, dual-logo ball marker and special packaging. And like the standard Spider ZT putter, it greatly reduces torque to enhance consistency.
The collection, which also includes hats, gloves and a duffle bag, will be available starting June 25 through tagheuer.com, TAG Heuer boutiques and authorized retailers.
