The U.S. Women’s Open wrapped up last week and Nelly Korda further entrenched herself into golf’s history books by winning it.
Generally speaking, the USWO is regarded as the major championship among LPGA Tour players. This isn’t said to diminish what other majors have to offer, but the USWO is the toughest test offered and therefore the most difficult mountain to climb. Nelly Korda did, and that she did so at Riviera Country Club of all places adds to the lore.

Women’s golf, women’s sports in general, is having quite the moment, and Nelly is a at the center of it. The game is experiencing all sorts of new opportunities as of late given its rise in popularities and companies like T-Mobile are smart to amplify it all.
“We are so excited to partner with USGA on the equity that we bring across both the men’s and women’s. So we are bringing the RangeCast technology that has been available for the first time this year to get that content capture off of the range. And it’s the first time they’ve done that at a women’s event. So we’re excited to help up level and elevate the technology that’s on site here for the women’s event. We’ve partnered with PGA of America for a number of years and supported across the men’s championship and the Women’s Championship. So it’s important for us to have a presence and help elevate these events for the fan experience element, but also for the players themselves.”

Understanding that women’s golf is booming is only part of the story and activation, though. Change takes action and T-Mobile is among those leading the charge as noted.
There are players who were in the field at Riviera who T-Mobile is partnering with to help do that. Brooke Henderson was among those who provided exclusive quotes to SB Nation and she agrees that what is happening is great for all involved.
“Yeah, it’s a really exciting time to be a part of women’s golf, especially the LPGA Tour. I feel like things are just continuing to grow and get better all the time, especially with partners like T-Mobile that are really helping to enhance the game.”
Here’s to what lies ahead. T-Mobile will certainly help blaze the trail.
