The Rams have not expressed any concerns about Myles Garrett’s knee injury keeping him out of Week 1, despite the reigning Defensive Player of the Year missing so many practices already, but suddenly Jaylen Watson’s name is on the injury report just two days before L.A.’s opening game against the San Francisco 49ers. Watson and Garrett are two of five Rams starters listed with a “Did Not Practice” on Tuesday, alongside Byron Young, A.J. Jackson, and Tyler Higbee.
We already know that Aaron Donald is out, but if the Rams are considering sitting any of their starters against the 49ers due to injury then the team has yet to give us any hints about it so far.
Watson, one of L.A.’s major signings this offseason with a three-year, $51 million contract, is dealing with a toe injury. The toe is small, but is known to take football players out of games when it’s injured. For a cornerback, the toe may be even more important. Watson has a long plane ride ahead to rest it.

Garrett has barely practiced over the last month, but Sean McVay didn’t mince words: Garrett will play against the 49ers.
On the same note, there’s no indication that Young, Jackson, or Higbee will be held out of Week 1 either.
So those four known injuries are probably much ado about nothing. However, a surprise injury by Jaylen Watson is a different story altogether. Mainly because we don’t even know what the story is yet.
