Riverton’s football team was back for the first official practice on Monday, August 11 after canceling the 2024 varsity schedule due to low numbers.

Tuesday, Aug. 19
Boys Golf
Brody McDowell, Taylorville: McDowell was a medalist after carding a 2-over-par 37 in Taylorville’s second-place finish in a quadrangular meet at Edgewood Golf Club on the back 9. The Tornadoes shot a team score of 187.
Colin Johnson/Owen Paluska/Caden Colwell, South County: The trio each shot 42s to lead South County past Taylorville, Auburn, and North Mac in a quadrangular meet in Auburn. The team shot a 174.
Monday, Aug. 18
Boys Golf
Sam Schwab, Litchfield: He shot a 4-over-par 76 for Litchfield, which finished sixth overall in a 15-team Hickory Stick Invite at Belk Park Golf Course.
Friday, Aug. 15
Girls Golf
Chelsea Clack, Williamsville: Clack shot a 90 and took third individually as Williamsville placed second as a team at the Bullet Invite at The Rail Golf Course.
Thursday, Aug. 14
Boys Golf
Maddux Moore, Jacksonville: Moore shot a 3-over-par 75 and finished in fourth place individually at the Taylorville Invitational meet at Lakeshore Golf Course. The Crimsons shot a team score of 326 and placed fifth.
Max Fisher/Collin Frontone, Williamsville: The teammates both shot a 78 and placed seventh and eighth, respectively, as the Bullets ended with a 315 and placed third behind Effingham and first-place Mount Zion (309) at the Taylorville Invite.
Bryce Cowdrey, Raymond Lincolnwood: Cowdrey carded a 1-over-par 73 and finished second individually in the Lancers’ third-place team finish at the Meridian Early Bird meet at Moweaqua Golf Course.
