British boxing legend Amir Khan, 38, is the only professional boxer to have shared the ring with both Canelo Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs) and Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs), who are set to lock horns in Las Vegas this Saturday, September 13, live on Netflix.

37 from Nebraska, ‘Bud’ Crawford made history in July 2023 when he became the first male boxer in history to become a two-weight undisputed champion.

Now, the American, trained by Brian McIntyre, is aiming to make more boxing history by attempting to become a three-weight undisputed champ by challenging the super-middleweight ruler, Canelo.

However, the skilful southpaw will find himself in the hardest fight of his 17-year pro career, as the four-weight world champion will be jumping up two weight classes to challenge a fully-fledged super-middleweight who has experienced – and won – 11 world title contests at 168lbs.

Despite the odds stacked against him, ‘King Khan’ is confident that Bud has a good chance of winning the super-fight, dubbed ‘The Fight of the Century’.

The Englishman fought Canelo for the WBC middleweight title in 2016, then he challenged Crawford for his WBO welterweight belt in 2019, both times stopped in the sixth round.

Having also jumped up two divisions to challenge the Mexican, the Bolton boxer shared his unique insight, “You know I’ve fought both the guys. I’m probably the only guy in the world to fight both of them. Good fight, man.

“I lean more towards Crawford. Crawford, I think is the better fighter, better boxer. Easy to hit, is Canelo; whereas Canelo still has that power, but I just feel that Crawford has his number.

“I’ve been watching videos and spoke to the team, who’ve said that Crawford has put on the muscle well, and he’s holding the weight well. He was like 186lbs the other day, looking strong and lean.

“So I don’t think he’ll have a problem, he won’t get pushed around. One thing you have to remember as well, Crawford is a decent wrestler, very strong, I’ve seen him take down heavyweights, so I don’t think he’ll have a problem with Canelo’s weight and size.

“But it’s just who’s got the best boxing skills and obviously we think Crawford has. But then again Canelo looked good in his last fight against the Cuban in Riyadh Season, Scull, yeah.

“So yeah I give it 60-40 to Crawford.”
