Texas Rangers infielder Sebastian Walcott is being promoted from AA Frisco to AAA Round Rock today, per Scott Lucas. With Frisco’s season having ended with yesterday’s loss in Game Three of the Texas League Division Series, Walcott is now joining Round Rock for the final two days of the AAA season.
Walcott likely would have been at Round Rock long before now had he not had to undergo internal brace surgery this spring. Walcott returned to action for the Frisco Roughriders in mid-July, slashing .322/.398/.586 for the Roughriders in 171 plate appearances over 37 games, all but one of which were at DH.
