Sebastian Fundora returns to action on March 22, defending the WBC and WBO super welterweight titles against a game Chordale Booker. The fight in Las Vegas airs on Prime Video.

Fundora (21-1-1) beat Erickson Lubin in 2022 for the interim WBC super welterweight title but lost the belt against Brian Mendoza. Given another shot to impress, Fundora did exactly that, beating Tim Tszyu last March to win the WBC and WBO titles.

“The Towering Inferno” and Tsyzu engaged in a bloody affair, showcasing his toughness. After not competing since, Fundora is ready to remind everyone why he’s a problem at 154.

“Things change all the time,” Fundora said. “Opponents fall through. Events fall through. With Booker, we’ve been training hard to have our first defense of our unified titles… I have to do what I always do: win and put on a great performance and do my job like always.”

Booker (23-1) is on a six-fight win streak. The lone loss of his career came against Austin Williams in a fight where the super welterweight fought at middleweight. With momentum back on his side, the 33-year-old is ready to chop down the taller Fundora.

“He has the most unique height and reach ever in the division, so we’re bringing in tall sparring and punching higher on the bag. That’s an awkward motion in boxing, punching that high,” Booker said of his opponent.

“I’ve watched his fights because I want to see what he’s good at and what shots he likes to throw. I’m prepared to do whatever it takes to win. Contrary to what the fans believe, that I’m just showing up, I’m here to win. I take risks. That’s why I have a loss, because I went up to 160.”

Contenders look to move up the ladder on the undercard while the son of a former world champion is ready to impress.
