Scottie Scheffler Shuts Down Ryder Cup Questions at BMW Championship originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler entered this week's BMW Championship as one of 50 golfers remaining in the 2025 FedExCup Playoffs.

With yet another outstanding season in 2025, Scheffler has already locked up his spot on the United States' Ryder Cup team. The historic event is set to begin on Sep. 26 at New York's Bethpage Black Course — and the excitement is starting to reach a boiling point.

Many golfers, including Scheffler, have been bombarded with questions about the Ryder Cup over the last few weeks. During a press conference on Thursday, Scheffler finally had enough after five consecutive questions regarding the upcoming event.

"I mean, I love answering all these questions about the Ryder Cup, guys. But this is ridiculous. We're at the BMW Championship. The Ryder Cup is over a month away. If you want to talk about this week, let's talk about this week," Scheffler said.

Scheffler played 14 holes before dangerous weather conditions suspended the first round of the BMW Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club. The World No. 1 golfer birdied three of his first four holes, then notched bogeys on No. 9 and No. 10. He currently sits in T8 at 1-under, two shots behind tournament leaders Viktor Hovland and Rickie Fowler.

Scheffler has four tournament wins in 2025, including major championship victories at the PGA Championship and The Open.
