Scottie Scheffler’s going to win the PGA Tour money title after the Tour Championship Aug. 27-30 at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta unless he has a total collapse and if Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick or Wyndham Clark win to take home the $10 million first-place check.
Scheffler’s tie for 12th at the BMW Championship at Bellerive in St. Louis earned $426,250 and bumped his total earnings this season to $20,937,525. Young ($14,408,482), Fitzpatrick ($14,271,067) and BMW winner Clark ($14,236,186) are the only players who can catch Scheffler for the money title, and they need to win for that to happen. The $5 million second-place check won’t cut it.

And a victory is no guarantee. If Young, for example, wins the Tour Championship and Scheffler finishes solo third ($3,750,000), Scheffler would nose out Young for the money title. Scheffler is guaranteed at least $355,000 for finishing last out of the 30t golfers at East Lake.

No other player can catch Scheffler. Rory McIlroy, in fifth place, has $9,866,606, and an East Lake ictory doesn’t get him to Scheffler’s haul through the BMW.
How many PGA Tour money titles does Scottie Scheffler have?
Scheffler has won the PGA Tour money title four years in a row (2022, 2023, 2024, 2025).
Woods won the money title 10 times (1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2013), including four in a row (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002), but never five in a row, something Scheffler is closing in on here in 2026.

Another money milestone can fall this week. Both Scheffler and McIlroy can pass Tiger Woods on the PGA Tour’s career money list, a spot Woods has held for more than 26 years, since Feb. 13, 2000.

Woods has $120,999,166. Scheffler is about $609,000 behind at $120,390,661 and McIlroy at $117,838,372, about $3.16 million behind.
Scheffler will pass Woods if he finishes solo 13th or better at the Tour Championship ($625,000) and McIlroy will pass Woods if he finishes solo fourth or higher ($3,150,000). So, both could pass Woods this week at East Lake.
If they don’t quite pull it off, it won’t take long for Scheffler or McIlroy to catch and pass Woods early next season.
Woods is tied for first all-time in PGA Tour wins with 82. Rory McIlroy has 30 career wins while Scheffler has 21.
