Scottie Scheffler continues to rake in the PGA Tour cash, if not victories

Scottie Scheffler’s 10th top-10 finish in 16 starts at the Open Championship kept him the most flush player on the PGA Tour.

Scheffler tied for fourth at Royal Birkdale, a nice rebound from his first missed cut in 78 starts the week before at the Scottish Open. He earned $827,500 at the Open, pushing him close to the $16 million mark in earnings this season. Cameron Young, who was third on the money list last week, did move up a spot and cut Scheffler’s overall lead with his solo second, for $1,842,000.

However, Scheffler still leads Young by a bit more than $2 million and since he’s playing in this week’s 3M Open at the TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minn., Scheffler will add to his lead if he can make the cut.

Scheffler may have gone winless in the major championships for the first time in three seasons but his steady string of top-10s have kept him on top of the money list for the last five weeks.

Of course Ryan Fox got a huge boost up the money list with a record first-place Open Championship check of $3.2 million. He jumped from 58th to 21st and now has more than $5.4 million.
