It remains a loan with option to buy, which means the figures are higher than if it had been a guaranteed transfer fee.
At the same time, Manchester City can take advantage of a buy-back option for the forward that is set at €40m.
This would guarantee that if Echeverri does flourish at the Stadio Olimpico, Roma do at least make some money back on the transfer.
Manchester City paid €18.5m to purchase the player from River Plate in 2024, but he has made just three competitive appearances for the club, scoring one goal in the FIFA Club World Cup.
