Brooklyn’s Richardson Hitchins (19-0) looks to make the first defence of his IBF super lightweight title when he hosts former unified 135-pound champion George Kambosos (22-3) at the Madison Square Garden Hulu Theater on Saturday, July 14 (July 15 in Australia).
Having defeated another Australian in the form of Liam Paro to collect the title last December, Hitchins, 27, will be hopeful of repeating the dose against the Sydneysider, who turns 32 on fight day.
For Kambosos, his mission to become a two-division world champion sees him return to MSG, a venue in which he boasts a 2-0 record, with wins over Mickey Bey and Teofimo Lopez.
