Dover Motor Speedway is reportedly an option to land the 2026 NASCAR All Star Race.

This is according to a report written by Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic, who stated an ‘increasing possibility’ that the All-Star Race could be moved from North Wilkesboro Speedway, which has hosted the event since 2023 as part of the next schedule shake-up in the Cup Series.

The report also states such a move would free up North Wilkesboro for a points paying event. Should it come to fruition, it would be the first points race at Wilkesboro since 1996 when Jeff Gordon won the Holly Farms 400.

This report also states that the Cup Series schedule, with Dover as the All-Star Race, could be released next week.

Speedway Motorsports has owned Dover for three years now allowing for this kind of flexibility. It could also give NASCAR and Speedway Motorsports CEO Marcus Smith a chance to experiment with formats or rules packages to enhance a product that has been increasingly lackluster during the current NextGen era.
