The Chelsea star hasn’t been involved in the last two matches after sustaining a hamstring injury during the goalless draw with Ghana in the group stage.

However, Tuchel will be able to call upon Jarell Quansah, who had deputised at right-back against Panama but was forced off with an ankle injury.

Quansah missed the subsequent game against DR Congo, but he has returned to full training and is available for selection again.

The Bayer Leverkusen defender could be given the nod at right-back over Djed Spence, who struggled in the last match.

Elsewhere, Declan Rice continues to carry a hamstring issue but he is set to start on Monday.

England face their toughest challenge in North America yet, as they take on a Mexico side that has claimed four wins from four with zero goals conceded.

El Tricolor have also never lost a World Cup game at the Azteca, which is situated at an elevation of 2,200 meters above sea level.

Tuchel’s charges managed to avoid a major upset against DR Congo after Harry Kane’s brilliant brace, but they will need to do much better to overcome Mexico.
