Real Madrid could be preparing to part ways with Reinier Jesus this summer.

According to AS, the Spanish giants are seriously thinking about terminating his contract if no club makes an offer for the Brazilian midfielder before the transfer window closes.

Reinier, who arrived at Real Madrid in early 2020, was once considered one of the most exciting young players in South America.

The club paid around €30 million to secure his signing from Flamengo, hoping he would develop into a star. However, five and a half years later, the 23-year-old has still not made his debut for the first team.

Since joining the club, Reinier has been sent on four loan spells. He spent two years at Borussia Dortmund, followed by short stints at Girona, Frosinone, and, most recently, Granada.

Unfortunately, none of these moves helped him break into the Real Madrid first team.

A return to the reserve team is not an option either, leaving the midfielder’s future up in the air.

Real Madrid are actively looking for a club willing to buy Reinier this summer. But if no offer arrives, the club is ready to terminate his contract early.

This would allow the player to leave on a free transfer and join another team where he might get the chance to play regularly.

For Reinier, this summer marks a crucial point in his career. The potential he showed during his early days in Brazil has yet to be fully realised, and he now faces the challenge of restarting his journey away from Madrid.
