Roma’s transfer window may not be over yet.
Tony D’Amico hinted as much yesterday during the press conference at Trigoria, admitting that the squad built over the summer is still missing an attacking player: “Realistically, we’re missing a player, someone who could play both roles. We’re a little short, but we’ll identify another player for January.”

But Roma might not even wait until January. When asked about the possibility of intervening in the transfer window for players without a contract, the sporting director replied: “Yes, we’re evaluating the free agent market and will decide later.”
According to today’s Corriere della Sera, the potential deal would also be independent of a possible sale of Salah-Eddine to one of the leagues where the transfer window is still open.
The newspaper, however, rules out a resurgence of interest for Jadon Sancho: the now former Gasperini protégé seems to have slipped off the radar of Roma and its manager.
The sought-after profile would be more of a full-back, with physical and athletic qualities, along the lines of Jamie Leweling, whose arrival fell through in the closing stages of the transfer window. Sterling, Mahrez, and Zaha are the most high-profile names, but with several drawbacks.

Instead, Il Tempo writes, beware of the versatility of Raphael Guerreiro, 32, who has split his time between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich for the last ten seasons.
A winger who can also be deployed in a more advanced position when needed, his left foot is quite well-trained, but his signature strength is not a sprint. These qualities are diametrically opposed to those of former Monaco player Krépin Diatta, who is also capable of playing in multiple positions.
