Polish youth international set to swap PSV for Westerlo

HLN are reporting that Westerlo are set to bring in midfielder Enzo Geerts. The PSV youngster is set to sign a long-term contract with the Belgian side before making the move across the border. Geerts had previously been in Belgian football with KV Mechelen, but the young Polish youth international swapped the Belgian side for PSV’s youth academy in 2017. Despite being a Belgian youth international, the midfielder switched allegiance to Poland due to his mother being from the country. He made his debut for the sides U20 team in November 2024.

the 20-year-old Geerts will leave PSV having not made a first team appearance for the senior side .Instead, he was part of the sides second team, Jong PSV, in the Dutch second tier. Last year, Geerts made 16 appearances for Jong PSV.

Westerlo have had an indifferent start to the campaign. In five Pro League matches so far the side have won two and lost three. They have also lost key players such as Matija Frigan, who joined Serie A side Parma. The side did finish off the last game before the international break well, with a 2-0 win at home against Antwerp.
