There was talk early in the week of possible thunderstorms during the first round of the 2026 Players Championship. On Thursday, the PGA Tour’s weather forecast called for mostly cloudy skies in the morning but come midday, things could get interesting.

At noon ET in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, home of TPC Sawgrass, there’s a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms. That number jumps to 90 percent at 2 p.m. ET.

It could be just one band of rain, but PGA Tour Live reports that could be up to a three-hour delay.

According to Accuweather, the Ponte Vedra Beach area’s high temperature is expected to be 77 degrees and they’re calling for about a 50 percent chance of rain at noon and 75 percent chance at 2 p.m. ET.
