Phil Mickelson’s future as a professional golfer just got cloudier as things continue to look bleak for LIV Golf. The league filed for bankruptcy protection but continues to paint a picture about the “next phase” of LIV Golf.

“LIV Golf and its related entities voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of New Jersey on Tuesday, according to court records,” ESPN’s Mark Schlabach wrote in a September 8, 2026, story titled, “LIV Golf files for bankruptcy protection, enters ‘next phase’.”
