PGA Tour pro weds after golf romance while rocking a wicked mustache

For Chandler and Jordan Phillips, it all started with golf — and, fittingly, golf nearly dictated when they would get married.

The PGA Tour pro and his wife recently tied the knot in Texas, celebrating their relationship with approximately 175 to 180 family members and friends at The Weinberg at Wixon Valley. But their wedding day was the culmination of a relationship that began years earlier at a golf course in Bryan, Texas.

The couple first met in 2019 at Traditions Club, where the Texas A&M golf team practiced. At the time, Jordan had just started working at the club that week as a cart girl. Phillips, meanwhile, was in his final week of living in College Station, having wrapped up his days playing as an Aggie and was on the verge of turning pro. Their paths could easily have missed each other.

Jordan was beginning her job just as Chandler was preparing to leave town, giving them essentially a single week in which their timing lined up. Fortunately, that week was enough.

What began around the golf course eventually developed into a relationship that carried them through Chandler’s rise up the professional golf ranks, with tournament schedules, travel and the unpredictable nature of life on the Tour becoming part of their story. So, when it came time to plan their wedding, golf once again had a say.

The couple chose an August date without knowing exactly what Chandler’s schedule would look like. With tournaments and travel constantly changing, there was no guarantee that the date they had selected would actually work. Until Chandler wrapped up the regular season of the FedEx Cup at No. 91 in the standings and failed to make the playoffs, Jordan said they weren’t completely confident the wedding would happen on that date until just weeks before they were scheduled to walk down the aisle.

After all the uncertainty, everything ultimately came together at The Weinberg at Wixon Valley in Bryan. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Chandler and Jordan exchanged vows in front of a crowd of roughly 175 to 180 guests, marking a new chapter in a relationship that began with a chance meeting at a Texas golf club. And even after the wedding, golf remains part of the equation.

The newlyweds aren’t rushing off on a traditional honeymoon as the FedEx Cup Fall, a series of eight tournaments running through November and ending just before the Thanksgiving holiday, beckons and he still needs to secure full status for next season while chasing his first victory. Plus, given that they already spend much of the year traveling for tournaments, the couple decided there was little reason to immediately add another trip to the calendar. Besides, Jordan had another important piece of August planning to consider. She joked that one of the reasons they chose their wedding date in the first place was so Chandler could still be home in time for dove season on Sept. 1.

For a couple whose relationship began because their paths happened to cross at a golf course during one very specific week in 2019, it seems only appropriate that golf would continue to shape their lives together.

This time, though, the biggest thing on the schedule wasn’t a tournament. It was their wedding day.
