The Carolina Panthers played in a shootout against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. I guess the upside of neither team playing defense is that the Panthers came out relatively unscathed. There are only four players on the injury report for Week 2. One is just a rest day, and two were already hurt before Week 1.

Panthers Injury Report
  • Patrick Jones – DNP – Back

  • Bobby Brown III – DNP – Back

Bobby Brown left the Bears game twice. but it seems like the only thing ailing him on the injury report is the same back issue that kept him out of practice last Wednesday. He was able to return to the practice field later in the week and toughed it out on Sunday.

Patrick Jones continues to nurse a back issue of his own. He seems unlikely to play at this point unless there’s a change to his practice status.

Darren Waller is old and needs days off. That’s all it is.

Jalen Coker came up a little gimpy early in the Bears game, but he got his ankle taped up and went on to have the best game of his career. He was wearing a walking boot after the game but said it was just precautionary. It seems he was telling the truth. The fact that he’s already back at practice on Wednesday, even if just in a limited fashion, would imply he’ll be good to go on Sunday.

Falcons Injury Report
  • AJ Terrell – DNP – Shoulder

The Falcson might be down a couple of starters from Week 1, for better or worse. Starting right guard Chris Lindstrom is dealing with a concussion, and it’s rare in today’s NFL for players to make it back in time for the next game after sustaining one. Starting corner AJ Terrell is dealing with a shoulder injury, but the Panthers might be rooting for him to make it back healthy based on how he played against the Steelers.

All three of the Falcons quarterbacks are on the injury report. Tagovailoa got the starting nod for Week 1 but then injured himself out of it. Micahel Penix is back practicing fully, but he and the team are still being cautious as he makes his way back from his third ACL tear. If he doesn’t go, Cooper Rush and his janky back will get the start.
