MITCHELL — On the heels of a week with three holes-in-one, two more aces were recorded at Lakeview Golf Course last week.

On Thursday, Aug. 7, Dave Feiner fired his ace on the No. 14 hole, as witnessed by playing partner Tom Schaffner. To pick up his sixth career hole-in-one, Feiner used a 9-iron from 127 yards away playing from the gold tees. Since the new par-3 hole’s opening at Lakeview in mid-July, four aces at the hole have been officially reported.

Two days later, on Saturday, Aug. 9, Caleb Johnson collected his first career hole-in-one on the No. 3 hole. Johnson used a pitching wedge while playing from 151 yards out at the white tees, with the shot witnessed by playing partner Michael Escobin.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “Mitchell Republic.” Often, the “Mitchell Republic” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
