The United States announced its 2025 Ryder Cup team on Wednesday afternoon, August 27 – and Paige Spiranac is not happy.
The 2025 Ryder Cup will be held at Bethpage Black in New York from September 26 through September 28. It's the first time that Bethpage Black has hosted the Ryder Cup, which pits the United States against Europe in a three-day golf competition. Team Europe has dominated Team USA as of late, winning 8 of the past 11 tournaments.
The U.S., led by captain Keegan Bradley, will look to end Europe's run of dominance in September. On Wednesday afternoon, Bradley announced the official Team USA squad.
Team USA's 2025 Ryder Cup squad
- Scottie Scheffler, J.J. Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley, Harris English and Bryson DeChambeau all qualified via points, which concluded on August 17
- Sam Burns, Patrick Cantlay, Ben Griffin, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas and Cameron Young joined the team as captain's picks
- Bradley, ranked No. 11 in the world by the Official World Golf Rankings, left himself off of the team
“I am immensely proud to select these six players for the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup Team,” said Bradley in his official Ryder Cup announcement. “All six are incredibly talented and deserving of a spot on our team. Together with the six qualifiers, our team features a strong blend of Ryder Cup veterans and rookies, each bringing unique strengths and experience that will be hugely beneficial in our quest to reclaim the Cup next month at Bethpage Black.”
Paige Spiranac is not happy
Spiranac, one of the most popular golf influencers in the world, with more than 5 million followers across platforms – more than any other golfer except for Tiger Woods – took to X to voice her complaint.
She wanted to see Bradley playing.
"Back to back Ryder Cups where Keegan should have been playing in my opinion. I understand why he picked the team first but I wish he wasn’t given the captaincy this year so he had the opportunity to play. He had many years in the future to be a captain," she wrote on Twitter.

President Trump agrees
President Trump, who announced on Truth Social that he is planning on attending the Ryder Cup on Friday, Sept. 26, disagrees with Bradley's picks.
He wanted to see Bradley playing as a playing captain.
“Keegan Bradley should DEFINITELY be on the American Ryder Cup Team — As Captain!!! He is an AMAZING guy. It will be a great Ryder Cup,” Trump wrote.
There has only been one playing captain in history, though, and that was Arnold Palmer back in 1963. Bradley chose to not be the second.
The 2025 Ryder Cup is scheduled to begin on Friday, Sept. 26 – with President Trump in attendance.
