Udinese’s Oumar Solet and Bologna’s Sam Beukema are at the top of the summer shortlist for Inter Milan in defense.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They confirm that the Nerazzurri will make a minimum of one signing at the back.
One thing that is clear is that Inter Milan are prioritizing the defense in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Nerazzurri’s backline is not getting any younger. Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij in particular are now well into their thirties.
Therefore, Inter want to reinvigorate with a younger signing for the back three. And in fact, they could even make a couple, report the Gazzetta.
Solet & Beukema Top Inter Milan List Of Targets In Defense
According to the Gazzetta, one name that has risen to the top of Inter’s shortlist of target is Udinese defender Oumar Solet.
The Frenchman only joined the Friulani in January. But in just a few months, his performances have rapidly earned him a top reputation.
Inter Milan had already monitored Solet when he was at Red Bull Salzburg last season.
The Nerazzurri did not take the plunge, however. Therefore, it was Udinese who brought him to Serie A.
Now that Solet is playing in the Italian top flight, though, he has proven how well he can adapt to the league.
Therefore, Inter would now have to make a significant offer to convince Udinese to part ways with the 25-year-old this summer, just a few months after they signed him on a free transfer.
Meanwhile, the Gazzetta report, Bologna defender Sam Beukema remains a major target for Inter in defense.
The Rossoblu would want no less than €30 million for the former AZ Alkmaar defender. However, Inter could try to chip away at that fee.
