Bismack Biyombo completed his fifteenth season last June. The Congolese big man was drafted in 2011 and spent a large portion of his career with Charlotte. He’s also played for the Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Memphis Grizzlies, and Oklahoma City Thunder before joining the San Antonio Spurs in February of 2025.
Biyombo has not signed on for the 2026-2027 season as of this writing, but he has his sights set on other opportunities, or more directly, creating opportunities.
Biyombo shared a post announcing the opening of Katanga Elite School, a bilingual college preparatory school located in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo.

This school is not Biyombo’s first foray into philanthropic projects. Biyombo started the Bismack Biyombo Foundation to initiate a positive impact through opportunities in athletics, education, and health. During the pandemic, they donated around $1 million worth of medical supplies to people in his native Democratic Republic of the Congo. Biyombo also pledged his entire salary from the 2021–22 season towards the construction of a hospital in Congo in honor of his father.
