Two mixed martial artists with one loss each will square off in a key bout at the September ONE Fight Night 47 event.
ONE Championship officials revealed to The Sporting News in an exclusive fight announcement that Hector Almonacid and Pedro Dantas are set to collide on September 5 live on Prime Video.
Hector Almonacid comes to the cage with an 11-1 record
Almonacid owns a career record of 11-1 and is a new signee to the ONE Championship roster. He has held multiple regional championships and fights out of Argentina.
“Al Arana” is a 24-year-old who has scored three consecutive wins since his loss to Heber Pereyra. All three of those victories have come via submission, including two in the first round over Facundo Puertas and Lautaro Caballero.
Of his 11 career wins, all but two have been finishes, including seven via submission.
Pedro Dantas has earned six finishes in his fighting career
His opponent, Dantas, is 6-1 with his lone career loss coming at the hands of Ibragim Dauev in a back-and-forth thriller between the two. Dantas also has competed in the kickboxing arena for ONE Championship.
“Guerreiro” comes to the cage fighting out of Brazil and is 23 years old. He scored six consecutive wins to begin his career, with four coming via strikes and two more by submission.
Three of his six wins were stopped in the first round, with the other three being called in the second.
Variety of fighting styles set for September ONE event
ONE Fight Night 47 will take place from the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The fight card will include matches in MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing and submission grappling.
