Lopes, a former title contender to Alexander Volkanovski, will be looking to start a new win streak inside the Octagon. The 30-year-old from Brazil fell to Volkanovski for the vacant title back in April, halting his five-fight win streak in the process.
His opponent, Silva, is also from Brazil and has picked up victories in each of his first five UFC appearances. He is 16-2 overall and 10-0 over his last 10 fights, including 15 career finishes.
Silva has quickly climbed the UFC ladder thanks to his ability to end fights early. Of his five UFC bouts, two have ended in the first and two more in the second, with the last two earning “Performance of the Night” bonuses.
Noches UFC, also titled UFC Fight Night 259, will be the fourth visit to San Antonio and first since March 2023. It will take place from the Frost Bank Center and stream live on ESPN+.
