Speedways across the country will be quiet today, at least when it comes to NASCAR.

The organization’s Cup Series, Xfinity Series and Truck Series all wrapped up their 2024 seasons with championship races last week at Phoenix Raceway.

The offseason isn’t too long, though. The engines will roar into competition again in February. Plenty of winter news — like drivers changing rides and updates on the lawsuit involving Michael Jordan’s 23XI Racing, Front Row Motorsports and NASCAR — will keep the sport busy.

Let’s review the end of this year and glance at the offseason.

Who won the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series championship?

Joey Logano joined some of the titans of racing by capturing his third Cup Series title last week. He won the championship race at Phoenix ahead of runner-up Ryan Blaney.

Logano previously raised the trophy in 2018 and 2022. He now holds as many titles as Lee Petty, David Pearson, Cale Yarborough, Darrell Waltrip and Tony Stewart.

Four drivers earned four or more.

Logano finished the regular season 15th in the standings. But he got hot at the right time, speeding to three playoff victories.
