The Seattle Seahawks have officially announced that wide receiver Jake Bobo has been placed on season-ending injured reserve.
Unfortunately this move is not a surprise after Bobo suffered a knee injury in the joint practice against the Tennessee Titans on Friday. The injury was bad enough for head coach Mike Macdonald to state the same day that it “seems like it’s going to be a serious knee” that would be a “long-term injury.”

Bobo, a fan favorite and major locker room presence may not stuff the stat sheet. However his loss for this team is still a big blow for morale, as well as his impact on special teams and in the blocking game. With Bobo being placed on injured reserve, and Tory Horton now dealing with an injury that will cause him to be “out for a period of time”, the wide receiver room suddenly looks a little thin at the top of the pecking order.
This will be a great opportunity for other young receivers like Montorie Foster Jr. and Emmanuel Henderson Jr. to make a case for the 53-man roster. However, don’t sleep on veterans like Cody White or Irv Charles who both offer size and special teams ability similar to Bobo.
As a corresponding move, the team re-signed wide receiver, Julian Hicks. Hicks went undrafted out of Albany in 2024, before spending time with the Green Bay Packers his first two seasons in the league.
