Well, that didn’t take long.
There was plenty of controversy at the end of last season when Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen was named the 2024 NFL MVP instead of Lamar Jackson, despite the Baltimore Ravens QB’s incredible season.

Jackson opened and went into this regular season as the +500 betting favorite at BetMGM to win his third MVP, with Allen and Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow right behind him at +600 odds. But it was Burrow who had the most wagers and total dollars wagered to win MVP at BetMGM before Week 1, with nearly four times as many wagers and eight times as much money on him as Allen.
Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix (35-1 odds in preseason) had nearly as many bets on him to win MVP as Allen heading into Week 1. That will change soon, especially after Nix’s shaky Week 1 performance bumped his odds down to 60-1.

And it was Jackson who garnered the big preseason bets to win MVP — two $50,000 wagers at different sportsbooks to take him his third MVP.
But it’s Allen who has quickly regained his place atop the odds board as the betting favorite to win MVP at sportsbooks (+350 at BetMGM), after leading the Bills to an improbable 41-40 comeback win on Sunday night over the Ravens.
Jackson currently has the second-best odds at +550, followed by Burrow at +650 and Patrick Mahomes at +800. Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love was a big mover as well, going from 18-1 to 12-1 after the Packers were impressive in a 27-13 Week 1 win over the Detroit Lions.
The Bills closed as 1.5-point home underdogs in Week 1, but were projected before the season to be favored in their final 16 games.
