CROMVOIRT, Netherlands — When stats guru Justin Ray first starts to put potential pairings together, he takes the names and faces away and simply looks at the data. Allisen Corpuz’s incredible accuracy off the tee, coupled with Nelly Korda’s world-class approach play, seemed like a no-brainer to Ray. Add in Corpuz’s cool-headed, comfortable approach to the spotlight, and it was a partnership 2023 U.S. captain Stacy Lewis was keen to put in play.
Now the first duo to win five consecutive matches in Solheim Cup history, Korda and Copuz have anchored a foursomes revolution for the red, white and blue.

“It’s like having an ace at the top of your rotation in major league baseball,” said Ray, who Lewis first brought on to help with the 2023 matches in Spain. It marked the first time the U.S. had ever used a stats-based system to help with the Solheim Cup, a practice that’s been done for years at the Ryder Cup.
After the pair went 4-0 in foursomes in 2023 and 2024, Angela Stanford didn’t have too much to consider.
“I feel like the whole world knew that they were coming,” she said after putting them out first for Friday foursomes at Bernardus Golf.
Anna Nordqvist sent out her best to take them on in Charley Hull and Lottie Woad, two top-10 players playing together for the first time. After the Englishwomen birdied the first hole to go 1 up, it was USA the rest of the way. Korda and Corpuz dispatched the Euros, 4 and 3, with a solid performance.

“Honestly, I enjoy playing with her so much,” said Korda, who improves her overall record to 11-5-1.
Corpuz and Korda become the second Solheim tandem to earn five points, joining Laura Davies and Alison Nicholas, who have a 5-4-0 record.
On the men’s side, Arnold Palmer and Gardner Dickinson are the only players in Ryder Cup history to win all five matches they played together from 1967-1971, according to Elias Sports Bureau.
Corpuz, who, like Korda, is a U.S. Women’s Open champion, improves her overall record to 6-2-1.
“Every time we even get to play practice rounds with [Korda] – I feel like that’s not something we really do on a regular tournament week – so just to be able to see the way she practices,” said Corpuz of what she’s learned about the world No. 1. “… everything that she does is just so elite. I think just, personality-wise, like she’s also really easy to be around. I’m pretty calm and she is as well, so I think there’s a good energy match there.”
