Texas Motor Speedway will host its 45th NASCAR Cup Series race this weekend with the Würth 400.
A triple-header weekend lines up a Friday night session with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race, the SpeedyCash.com 250. Practice and qualifying sessions from both Truck and the NASCAR Xfinity Series will take place beforehand. Saturday will feature Cup practice and qualifying, followed by the Xfinity race, the Andy’s Frozen Custard 300. Sunday’s Cup Series race will be a 267-lap main event to cap off the weekend.
Weather forecasts show rain early in Wednesday morning with skies clearing in the afternoon, posing little to no threat of rain the rest of the weekend.
Friday night’s temperature should be around 66 degrees at the start of the Truck race. Saturday’s Xfinity race will be slightly warmer at 68, with the Cup race nearing 70 when the green flag waves.
Starting Friday at 2:35 p.m. ET, the Truck Series takes track first with practice followed by qualifying at 3:40 p.m. ET, both untelevised. Another practice and qualifying session starts immediately after at 5:05 p.m. ET for the Xfinity Series, viewable on The CW. These four sessions are the only sessions directly threatened by weather.
The start of the Truck Series race is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET for 167 laps of the SpeedyCash.com 250 on FS1.
Saturday, May 3 will start earlier with Cup Series practice at 11:05 a.m. ET. Qualifying begins at 12:10 p.m. ET. Both sessions can be streamed live on Amazon Prime.
The green flag waves for the Xfinity Series with the Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 at 2 p.m. ET on The CW.
