Looking at the NASCAR odds this week for Phoenix Raceway, many of the favorites to win the Straight Talk Wireless 500 on Sunday shouldn’t come as a surprise. Notably, the odds are heavily against Tyler Reddick pulling off four consecutive wins, with drivers for Team Penske and Joe Gibbs Racing the likeliest to win.

As we do every week, we’re doing a bit of a NASCAR betting guide for the upcoming race. We’ll start by looking at the odds, set by DraftKings, for the race winner and a top-3 finish for each driver. Below that, we have four picks we’d make based on the lines, including top-5 and top-10 finishers.

NASCAR Betting Guide: 4 Picks this Week

Chris Buescher – Top 10 Finish (+135)

There are 11 drivers who are favored to finish top 10 in the Straight Talk Wireless 500; we wanted to go with someone outside of that group. In his last six races at Phoenix, Chris Buescher has four top-10 finishes, and he’s twice landed in the top five. He finished fifth last spring at Phoenix and 14th in the November result. Given the strong start he’s been off to this season, a top-10 finish at one of his best tracks feels very doable for Buescher come Sunday.

Josh Berry – Top-10 Finish (+135)

After finishing ninth in the Daytona 500, Josh Berry has now placed outside the top 25 in his last two races. Fortunately for Wood Brothers Racing and the No. 21 team, Berry seemed to thrive at Phoenix last season at managing his tires, both with the option tire (fourth in March) and the tire compound used in the Championship race (seventh). With NASCAR bringing the tires back from the last race at Phoenix, we think Berry could deliver his third consecutive top-10 at the track.

Denny Hamlin – Top-5 Finish (-125)

This is an opportunity for Denny Hamlin to exorcise his demons at Phoenix. In his last stop here, the No. 11 car dominated the majority of the Championship race (208 laps led), and then William Byron’s tire issue brought out the caution. It ultimately cost Hamlin his first title. This season got off to a bit of a rough start, with wrecks caused by other drivers resulting in damage to the No. 11 car near the front of the field that wiped out potential top-10 finishes. Coming off a 10th-place finish at COTA, Hamlin will build off that momentum with his first top-five finish of the season.

Kyle Larson – Win

Ryan Blaney is the favorite to win the Straight Talk Wireless 500, but we’re rolling with Kyle Larson. He had arguably the best car at Atlanta two weeks ago before a careless move caused him to wreck. This past Sunday, he finished sixth at COTA despite his cool suit failing and dealing with other issues inside the car. He now returns to the track where he won the Cup Series championship just a few months ago. The first win of the season is coming for Larson on Sunday, pushing him back into the top 10 in points.
