NASCAR reinstated Truck Series driver Daniel Dye on Tuesday from his indefinite suspension for insensitive comments made during a livestream in early March. However, the 22-year-old driver is being replaced in the No. 10 truck at Kaulig Racing.
As first reported by Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic, Dye was reinstead by NASCAR on Tuesday and granted immediate eligibility to compete in races sanctioned by the sport. However, he will no longer be part of Kaulig Racing, with the team announcing that it has “accepted Daniel Dye’s resignation.”

Heading into this weekend’s NASCAR Truck Series race at Rockingham, Dye ranked 19th with 64 points across three races. He was in the mix for a spot in the playoffs as a full-time driver through the first three races before video emerged of him making homophobic comments about IndyCar driver David Malukas. While Dye completed his sensitivity training, Ram and Kaulig Racing reportedly opted not to retain him following his suspension.

Bianchi first reported that veteran NASCAR driver Corey LaJoie was favored to step behind the wheel of the No. 10 truck full-time at Kaulig. Entering the week, LaJoie had been expected to drive the No. 25 truck for Kaulig and Ram in the Black’s Tire 200.

Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports has since confirmed that LaJoie will drive Kaulig’s No. 10 truck for the remainder of the season. That opens up the No. 25 truck this weekend at Rockingham, which will be driven by Ty Dillon.
Notably, per Pockrass, LaJoie can ask NASCAR for the points he’s accrued this season to be moved to the Truck Series. However, under the new points format implemented this season, the number of races he’s not taken part in would likely prevent him from making the playoffs.
Dye made it clear in his statement that he has no intention of leaving racing and he “looks forward” to his next opportunity with a focus on eventually becoming a top driver in stock car racing. Given his past success, he could find a ride with a Truck Series team in 2027.
