The NASCAR circuit rolls into “Sin City” this weekend for a doubleheader weekend at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Both the Cup Series and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series will be on-track this weekend at the 1.5-mile track in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the site of the fifth race of the Chase for the Cup Series and the fourth race of the Chase for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. At a critical point in the season, Las Vegas could make for a massive championship shakeup in both series.

The on-track action at Las Vegas will begin on Saturday, Oct. 3. It will be a busy day at the racetrack with both Cup and O’Reilly Series practice and qualifying. The day will conclude with the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race.
Sunday, Oct. 4 will conclude the NASCAR race weekend at Las Vegas with the running of the Cup Series race. Here is a look at the full schedule of the NASCAR action in “Sin City.”

Who Won Last Year’s NASCAR Cup Series Race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway?
Denny Hamlin enters as the defending winner of the South Point 400 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The driver of the No. 11 only led nine laps of the 267-lap event but managed to be the first car across the start/finish line when the checkered flag flew.

The win was monumental for Hamlin as it was his 60th career Cup Series victory. Las Vegas was in the Round of 8 of the previous playoff format, which gave Hamlin a guaranteed spot in the Championship 4 race at Phoenix.
Kyle Larson finished second after leading a race-high 129 laps. Christopher Bell finished third, followed by Chase Briscoe in fourth and Tyler Reddick rounded out the top five.
Hamlin has also won the last two Las Vegas Cup races as he was the victor at the 1.5-mile track last March. Heading into Sunday, the Joe Gibbs Racing star ranks second in the points standings, 26 points behind points leader Kyle Larson.
Larson has won two of the last three races, including a dominant win at Kansas last Sunday and earned a maximum 76 points by winning, sweeping both stages and laying down the fastest lap of the race.
