Chase Elliott won the Kansas NASCAR race in thrilling fashion on Sept. 28.

It was the 22nd career win for Elliott, who won the Cup Series Championship in 2020.

Elliott passed Bubba Wallace and Denny Hamlin, who had led for most of the Hollywood Casino 400 despite steering issues, on the final turn. Elliott then made contact with Ross Chastain on his way to claiming his second win of the season and powering his way into the Round of 8 in the playoffs.

“These don’t come easy and you never take them for granted,” Elliott told reporters after the win.

Elliott was coming off a fifth-place finish at New Hampshire. He won in similar thrilling fashion in Atlanta on June 28. It was also Elliott’s second win at Kansas Speedway.

Hamlin finished second, Christopher Bell was third, Chase Briscoe was fourth and Wallace was fifth. .
