NASCAR fans are calling for a change to the Cup Series schedule following this weekend's race in Atlanta.
The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series arrived in Atlanta over the weekend. The Quaker State 400 Presented by Walmart took place at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. It was a thrilling night of racing on Saturday evening, June 28.
Chase Elliott ended up taking home the checkered flag. Elliott won the race, while he was followed by Brad Keselowski in second place and Alex Bowman in third place. Tyler Reddick and Erik Jones finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
Meanwhile, many NASCAR fans were taking to X, to claim that the Atlanta race was the best of the season. It's hard to argue with that, too.
Some NASCAR fans are calling for a change to the schedule because of how great the Atlanta race was, too. There's a group of NASCAR Cup Series fans that want to see NASCAR hold a Cup Series race in Atlanta on the Fourth of July weekend.
"Hear me out, Make Atlanta the new 4th of July weekend race! All you have to do is move it back one more week! You can make it happen! If we can never go back to Daytona for July 4th, Atlanta would be better!" one fan wrote.
NASCAR fans loved the suggestion.
"If you think this weekend was hot, July is even hotter, but we would still be there. I wish it was still the Championship race like used to be. Second & last race," one fan added.
"One needs to be July 4th and the other regular season finale idc which one is which," one fan added.
"I gotta agree one of the best races so far and get rid rovel the 600 was so good bring back the night race in Charlotte in the fall," another fan added.
"Except it should be 450-500, because it deserves to be longer," one fan added.
