The NASCARCup Series heads out to the Great Plains of Kansas this upcoming weekend for another edition of great racing. Kansas is a 1.5-mile oval, widely regarded as one of the best racing tracks in the Cup Series’ NextGen era. The AdventHealth 400 will feature 267 total laps and air on Fox’s main channel at 2 PM ET.
Kansas Speedway debuted this spring race in 2011 and currently hosts two races per year — one in the Spring and one in the Fall as part of the Chase. The defending winner of the AdventHealth 400 is Kyle Larson. Chase Elliott is the most recent winner at Kansas, having won last Fall’s Hollywood Casino 400.

Corey Heim will make his 2nd start in the NASCAR Cup Series, following his debut in the Daytona 500, which earned him a 28th-place result. Heim will race a total of 12 races this season as Toyota’s top developmental driver. After Kansas, Heim will come back to race at Texas.

Kyle Larson, No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet
In the NextGen era of 8 races, Larson is the sole driver to win multiple times at Kansas: twice. Larson has finished in the top-10 7 out of those 8 races and 5 times in the top-5. Larson’s average finishing position is a very strong 6.3.

Denny Hamlin, No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota
Hamlin is nearly just as dominant as Larson. Despite having one race win rather than two, Hamlin is the only other Cup Series driver who averages a top-8 finish at Kansas (7.5). In 8 races since 2022, Hamlin is 7-for-8 in top-10 finishes.

Carson Hocevar, No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet
Hocevar has been standing out as a high-end Cup Series driver. However, in his 5 Cup Series starts at Kansas, Hocevar has zero top-10 finishes with an average start of 17.0 and an average finish of 26.2, despite finishing each race running and 3 times on the lead lap.

Austin Cindric, No. 2 Team Penske Ford
Cindric has had inconsistency issues compared to his teammates. At Kansas, Cindric has 8 starts with zero top-10 finishes, despite a strong average start of 13.0. Only once has Cindric wrecked out of the race. His average finish is 24.6.
