One of the young stars of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series had to be taken to a local hospital after today’s race.
18-year-old driver Tyler Reif of Niece Motorsports was running with some damage to his car at the end of today’s OnlyBulls Green Flag 150 in St. Petersburg, Florida today. He had gone into a wall at one point in the race but was able to finish 16th.

However, FOX NASCAR insider Bob Pockrass reported that Reif had to be taken for “further evaluation” after the race.
“Tyler Reif was taken to the hospital for further evaluation after the truck race. He was running at the finish but did have some damage,” Pockrass wrote.
Luckily, it doesn’t seem as though Reif’s trip to the hospital was life-threatening. Niece Motorsports released a statement shortly afterwards to announce that he was dealing with heat exhaustion. He has since been released from the medical facility.

“Tyler Reif has been released from a St. Petersburg area medical facility after being treated for heat exhaustion,” Niece Motorsports said in a statement. “Tyler and his family would like to express their gratitude to the NASCAR officials, track medical workers, and the local medical facility staff for their care.”

Tyler Reif’s Career
Reif has been a rising star on the racing scene for several years now. He tallied multiple wins in the ARCA Menards Series by age 16 and last year made his debut in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. In his debut at Phoenix for the final race on the calendar, he showed serious promise by finishing ninth.

Niece Motorsports named Reif their anchor driver for the 2026 season and he has responded with top-20 finishes in both of his starts to this season.
