In a hard-fought battle between the two teams at the top of the Unrivaled standings on Friday night, the Lunar Owls came out on top.
They secured a 75-73 win over the Laces to stay unbeaten after a free throw from Skylar Diggins-Smith allowed the team to reach the winning score that was set after the third quarter.
The Lunar Owls trailed by five points near the start of the fourth, but they were able to come back due to the heroics of Diggins-Smith and Napheesa Collier. The pair combined to score 11 of the team’s 13 points in the final period.
Collier, the Minnesota Lynx star and reigning WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, finished with 26 points and seven rebounds while shooting 10-14 from the field. She also recorded one block and one steal.

Diggins-Smith also wrapped up an efficient night, scoring 16 points and dishing out four assists while shooting 50 percent from the field.
For the Laces, Kayla McBride led the way with 26 points.
McBride, Collier’s teammate on the Lynx, showcased her long-range accuracy throughout the contest. She shot 9-14 from the field, hitting six of eight attempts from behind the arc.
Following Friday’s result, the Lunar Owls now have sole possession of the No. 1 spot in the Unrivaled standings with a 5-0 record. Meanwhile, the Laces fell to 4-1.
