Monaco have dropped their asking price for Lamine Camara (22) to €50m plus add-ons, according to a report from Romain Molina. The Senegalese international midfielder has been the subject of interest from Chelsea on the final day of the transfer window. Negotiations between the two clubs have since collapsed due to the Principality club’s asking price.
Earlier today, Monaco’s sporting director Thiago Scuro was demanding that the Blues pay in the region of €70m for the 22-year-old midfielder. The Premier League were unwilling to negotiate at this price and hoping to complete a deal closer to €50m. The Ligue 1 club were not under pressure to sell the Senegalese international with Folarin Balogun agreeing to join Everton. However, the American international striker has since failed his medical and his prospective move to Merseyside appears to have collapsed.

With Balogun now staying at the Stade Louis II, Les Monégasques are under pressure to sell before the end of the window. Therefore, Molina understands they have reduced their asking price for Camara to encourage Chelsea to return to the negotiating table. It remains to be seen if the West London club will return to negotiations with just shy of two hours remaining of the summer transfer window.
